If the speculations doing rounds in the Telugu Desam Party circles are to be believed, tourism minister and Allagadda MLA Bhuma Akhila Priya is seriously contemplating returning to the YSR Congress party fold in the coming months.
Akhila is not happy with the prominence being given by party president N Chandrababu Naidu to her rival in the constituency A V Subba Reddy. With the cold war between Akhila and Subba Reddy snowballing into direct clashes, Naidu recently called both of them and gave them strict warning against indulging in groupism.
He particularly pulled up Akhila for not taking the seniors along with her in the constituency and restore the prestige of the party.
He told her that she got the chance of becoming a minister at an early age and she should keep up the importance given to her.
When she said Subba Reddy was claiming himself to be the party candidate in Allagadda in the next elections, Naidu told her that he would take a decision on whom to give the ticket based on his own survey.
This has upset Akhila very much. She expected that Naidu would give her a firm assurance for the party ticket in the next elections.
At the same time, she also did not like the reports that Naidu is planning to nominate Subba Reddy as chairman of one of the important corporations. This, she felt, would undermine her importance in Allagadda.
At the same time, Naidu is also said to be angry with Akhila for not taking active role in the state politics.
When YSR Congress party MLA R K Roja was making aggressive comments against the TDP and Naidu on Dachepalli incident, Akhila remained silent. And Naidu reportedly felt that the response would have been more had Akhila condemned Roja’s comments.
As a result, he had to depend on male MLAs like Bonda Uma, who made vulgar comments against Roja and had to face criticism!
