Where are these two Telangana leaders?

Two prominent Telangana leaders who played a major role in the recent assembly elections in the state are conspicuous by their absence from the political scene in the last couple of weeks.

One of them is former Irrigation minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA from Siddipet T Harish Rao.

Despite being the nephew of TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he has not been seen and heard in the party activities these days.

Harish Rao used to be actively involved in the party during the electioneering and singlehandedly fetched victory for the TRS in several assembly constituencies, especially n Gajwel, Gadwal and Kodangal. But after the elections, he has virtually gone into oblivion.

The last time one has seen Harish Rao in the political activity was at Telangana Bhavan on December 18, when he came to greet his brother-in-law and Siricilla MLA K T Rama Rao on the latter taking charge as the TRS working president.

Subsequently, he also attended a programme in Ibrahimpur village in Siddipet district which was attended by over 50 MLAs and 25 IAS officers from various states to see the developmental works.

After that, Harish Rao has virtually disappeared from the scene. News is that he has gone to Singapore along with his wife to spend some time with his daughter who is doing her under-graduation course in business administration there and also to celebrate new year there.

Apparently, he is feeling suffocated in the party after KTR was made the working president and there are reports that he might not be accommodated in the KCR cabinet.

Another leader who is conspicuous by missing in the state politics is former Kodangal MLA and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president A Revanth Reddy.

He has been missing in action from the very next day when the election results were declared.

It is learnt he had gone on a trip to different tourist spots to take a break from politics and get out of the shock he had received during the elections.

Recently, pictures of Revanth sporting a black blazer going round the Pench Tiger Reserve Forest areas in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra borders surfaced in social media.

For more than two weeks, Revanth had not come to the party office at all. However, on Monday, Revanth attended a meeting held by the PCC at Hotel Golkonda. He declared that he would not speak to media for another two years.

“I will keep silent for myself,” he said.

May be, he wants to get inspired from the tigers in the forest so that he can return to politics roaring by the coming Lok Sabha elections.
