NDA presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu had finally met TDP leaders in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
The TDP had extended its unsolicited support to the NDA candidate only on Monday noon.
Though Murmu’s visit to Andhra Pradesh was fixed much earlier, the TDP could manage and get her to attend its meeting only after strong lobbying.
When the TDP leaders realised that Murmu would not be meeting them in Vijayawada, its MP, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar started lobbying in Delhi BJP circles.
The MP tried unsuccessfully even after speaking to senior leaders including BJP national president J P Nadda.
It was then Chandrababu Naidu is learned to have requested Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas to use his good office in Delhi and get Murmu’s appointment in Vijayawada.
Kesineni, who is upset with Chandrababu Naidu did not accept the assignment easily. He had laid several conditions for which Naidu had to accept.
Kesineni, as told by his boss, took up the issue with the BJP national leadership and got TDP’s meeting included in her visit to the state in the eleventh hour.
Once the appointment was confirmed, Chandrababu Naidu rushed to the city in a chartered flight.
The meeting was organised in a star hotel in Vijayawada.
While Central Minister G Kishan Reddy and BJP AP president Somu Veerraju thanked Chandrababu Naidu for his support to the NDA candidate.
Without mincing words, Murmu too thanked Naidu for his unsolicited support!
Finally, Kesineni was the master of ceremony at the meeting, not Galla Jayadev!
