YSR Congress party’s Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy has strongly defended meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Central ministers as and when he wanted.
Reddy was reacting strongly to Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s allegation that the YSRC MP was frequently seen in the corridors of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Naidu wondered how Modi could give appointment to an accused in the corruption charges.
“I am an MP and I have every right to meet the Prime Minister whenever I want to represent on the issues concerning the state. Who is Chandrababu Naidu to stop me? Do I have to take his permission before meeting my Prime Minister? I can meet anybody I like,” Sai Reddy said.
“We will not rest till Naidu is thrown behind the bars for allegations of corruption. We shall meet the PM and other central ministers to submit all the evidences against Naidu’s corrupt deeds. That is our objective,” he said/
He said Naidu had the habit of changing political partner every three years and also changing stands on issue.
“He has no sincerity on the issue of special status. Once he said special package is better. Today, he says he wants only special category. Initially, he said he would back YSRCP’s No Confidence Motion, but now he has backtracked on this too,” Vijay Sai Reddy said.
He said the YSRCP is the only party which is sincere about the special status. The party has been waging a relentless battle for the special status and would continue to do so, he said.
