What Did Lagadapati Tell Naidu?

The recent meeting of former Lok Sabha member from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal with Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has revealed some interesting news.

Though Lagadapati is said to have met Naidu along with an industrialist to seek a bail-out package for his Lanco group of industries, he also reportedly submitted a 60-page report on the prospects of various political parties in the state in the coming elections.

Though it is yet to be known officially as to what is there in the report, Naidu is learnt to have shared some of its contents with his senior party colleagues later.

Now, the media circles are trying to speculate as to what is there in the report, based on their conversations with the senior TDP leaders.

According to them, the report has by and large predicted that Naidu still has the chances of returning to power in Andhra Pradesh for the second time, provided he takes certain measures to tighten the grip over the party.

Apparently, Lagadapati’s survey report has identified the strengths and weaknesses of the Opposition parties, particularly the YSR Congress and the Jana Sena Party and told Naidu how to tackle the ruling party’s weak areas.

It is learnt Naidu’s aggressive stand against the Bharatiya Janata Party has brought back a lot of lost ground to the TDP and if he is able to tighten the loose ends, the party can come back to power, albeit with a lesser margin.

Naidu is obviously taking Lagadapati’s survey seriously, because most of the surveys of the former MP have been proved correct.

Even in the recent Karnataka elections, the survey conducted by Lagadapati with the help of Today Chanakya group has proved more or less accurate.

But what matters ultimately is the people’s mind set at the time of elections and it remains to be seen which party will have the last laugh in 2019.
