If the reports from the Telugu Desam Party are to be believed, the party is planning to rope in prominent director V V Vinayak to counter noted Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, who is planning to organize a massive rally of Kapus at Tuni in East Godavari district on January 31.
Apparently realising that Mudragada’s rally – Kapu Garjana -- has the backing of YSR Congress party led by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in order to win back the confidence of Kapus by 2019 elections, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to organize a counter rally of Kapus sometime later by roping in film director Vinayak, who also hails from the same community.
He has entrusted the task of organizing the rally and public meeting to his deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa.
Before the 2014 elections, Naidu had promised to include Kapus in the BC category and give them Deputy Chief Minister post. Accordingly, he had made Chinna Rajappa as Dy CM, while taking steps to include Kapus in the BC category.
The TDP president wants to highlight his decisions at the counter rally. Using Vinayak, he might also bring in Power Star Pawan Kalyan to the meeting to snatch the advantage from the YSR Congress party, sources said.
