TRS Eyeing Cong Leaders From City!

TRS Eyeing Cong Leaders From City!

With the Congress party in Telangana going all out regain its hold in the state politics, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi leadership is said to be planning to lure as many as Congress leaders as possible into the party.

The most vulnerable Congress leaders, according to the TRS sources, are the party leaders from Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.

TRS sources said it was more or less confirmed that senior leader and former minister M Mukesh Goud would join the ruling party soon. His son Vikram Goud is also likely to follow him.

Mukesh had enjoyed tremendous clout during the Congress regime along with another minister from city Danam Nagender and they were known as Hyderabad brothers.

However, after the TRS came to power, Mukesh who lost to BJP's Raja Singh Rathod from Goshamahal Assembly constituency in 2014 with a huge margin, lost his relevance. He was not visible in active politics.

Now with elections to fast approaching, Mukesh is trying to get back into active politics by joining the TRS along with his son.

Though Nagender is visible in the party activities now and then, he has also been very active in the Congress party. He, too, is likely to join the TRS sooner or later, say sources.

Besides, others like former Congress MLA Bhikshapathi Goud and former MP Anjan Kumar Goud, are also likely to join the TRS, say sources.
