The Bharatiya Janata Party has given a rude shock to Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu with its Rayalaseema Declaration which has a charter of 16 demands.
Particularly, the demand for having a second capital of Andhra Pradesh in Rayalaseema is definitely a big embarrassment to Naidu.
The BJP also demanded that all the government offices including Secretariat, assembly building, chief minister’s residence and Raj Bhavan, besides the permanent high court be set up in Rayalaseema.
Though Naidu or any of his party leaders did not come out with any official reaction to the BJP’s demand, his party MP T G Venkatesh, however, reacted positively. The TDP Rajya Sabha member from Kurnool welcomed most of the BJP demands.
“I have been asking for making Kurnool as the second capital of Andhra Pradesh. I am glad the BJP has responded to my suggestion at last,” he said.
Now, this is definitely a big psychological blow to Naidu, who has been trying to provoke his party leaders against the BJP.
Now with his own party MP demanding Kurnool as the second capital, the TDP president would be in soup. He does not have any answer if the BJP reiterates the demand!
