TDP Strength To Drop By 50 Per Cent!

TDP Strength To Drop By 50 Per Cent!

The ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh is likely to end up being in the opposition party with just 50 per cent of its present strength in the next assembly elections, if one were to go by the latest survey purportedly done by former Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal.

According to reports doing rounds in a section of media, Lagadapati’s latest survey indicated that the TDP would get just 52 seats in the 175-member assembly, going by the present mood of the people in the state.

The YSR Congress party led by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will come to power with 105 seats.

Interestingly, Lagadapati survey has predicted that Jana Sena Party floated by power star Pawan Kalyan is going to emerge as a force in AP and will be able to win 19 seats.

Needless to say, if Pawan’s party is not in fray, the YSRC would end up with more number of seats in the assembly.

Apparently, the former MP is learnt to have observed that Jagan’s padayatra has been creating a tremendous impact on the people and in the coming months, it will have more penetration. That is reflecting in the voting pattern, he reportedly observed.

In fact, Lagadapati reportedly submitted a report to Naidu in October last itself, warning him that only one-third of the sitting TDP MLAs (35 out of 103) would be able to retain their seats in the next elections.

He pointed out that there is a strong dissatisfaction among the people towards the remaining TDP MLAs and they might not be able to retain their seats again.
