Known for his straightforward and controversial comments against his own party leaders, maverick Telugu Desam Party MP from Anantapur J C Diwakar Reddy has once again triggered uproar within the party by describing all the TDP MLAs and ministers as waste fellows.
Speaking at a party meeting in Anantapur, JC said the welfare schemes introduced by the Chandrababu Naidu government were of no use to the people.
“Except Chandranna Bima scheme, none of the schemes is being implemented properly. For example, the Re 1 a kg rice scheme is not at all reaching the people and the rice is being sold in the open market. Nobody has the guts to point this out,” he said.
He described the TDP MLAs and ministers as useless fellows.
“That is the reason why the schemes are not being implemented at the ground level and have become a breeding ground for corruption,” JC alleged.
The TDP MP also took pot shots at Naidu for ignoring him.
“He will not give me any cabinet post. Even he gives me, he will not allow me to continue,” he said, announcing that he was going to retire from politics shortly.
Turning his attention to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, JC said as long as Modi was in power, the state would not get even a piece of jaggery.
“I told the same to Naidu, but the latter said he should continue to make efforts to get what is due to the state. The Centre has completely cheated us,” he said.
