There was a time when TDP had launched a campaign against TRS and YSRCP calling them ‘adde putrudu’ and ‘datta putrudu’.
Now, the same party has resorted to seat sharing in some municipalities both in Andhra and Telangana.
In Nellore, the TDP councilors in Atmakur gave support to Congress. Incidentally, ex minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy represented this constituency. Hence, there was strong rumour that he might join the TDP, which was strongly opposed by some TDP members.
On the other hand, in Telangana, during a meet held under the aegis of Chandra Babu Naidu, TDP had openly announced that if the Congress supported them in Rangareddy district, they would extend support to the Congress in Mahboobnagar and Warangal districts.
Meanwhile, some political analysts feel that such alliances need not be taken very seriously as they are merely local elections.
