During the agitation to have the steel plant located in Vizag was coined the famous slogan, 'Visakha Ukku, Andhrula Hakku'. In tune with the spirit of this slogan, the Congress Party has decided to persist with an unrelenting struggle for the special status to AP to be guided by the slogan of 'Special status, Andhrula Hakku'.
Speaking in Visakhapatnam, Raghuveera Reddy lampooned the efforts of the TDP and BJP on the issue of special status to AP.
“Why is TDP saying one thing and BJP another? Rs 50 crore development package to Srikakulam is an insult. Andhra people are being humiliated by the Center because Naidu does not have the guts to stand up to Modi. Naidu is afraid of Modi,” said Raghuveera.
He also took credit for the Center granting Rs 850 crore to AP. “When we announced our campaign to collect one crore signatures, they immediately announced Rs 850 crore,” said Raghuveera.
The Congressman would have been better off coming up with the slogan, ‘Samaikhya Rahtram, Andhrula Hakku’ during the T-agitation instead of being a party to the bifurcation that crushed the hearts of the Andhra people.
