Perhaps for the first time, power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan was all praise for the YSR Congress party for continuing its relentless fight for achieving special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
Pawan took to his favourite medium twitter on Thursday to say a few words of praise for YSR Congress party MPs for raising their voice in Parliament over special category status.
“YSRCP MPs are doing a commendable job in pursuing AP Spl status at centre (sic),” he tweeted.
He also thanked Telangana MPs supporting for the cause. He tweeted: “My wholehearted thanks to T-MPs 'Kesava Rao Garu & Rapolu Ananda bhaskar Garu for their support to AP spl status.”
At the same time, Pawan criticised the Telugu Desam Party MPs for ignoring the demand, when the debate was going on in Rajya Sabha over special category status.
“It's quite disheartening to see honorable minister Sri Ashok Gajapathi Rajugaru's silence and the absence of TDP MPs in the parliament when the discussion over special status to AP came up.
TDP does not have the right to compromise on the promised special category status with the Centre as people of AP brought TDP and BJP into power trusting they will get the status,” he said.
Pawan, however, refrained from making harsh comments on TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu but sounded a word of caution.
“I too agree to show restraint and to be cautious with Centre, but when repeated injustice is being meted out to us then where is the need?” he asked.
“I request TDP, "DO NOT MORTGAGE THE SELF RESPECT"of People of AP to centre for your personal benefits. I think TDP MPs have forgotten the insult of their MPs getting beaten by North MPs in the parliament during the state bifurcation,” he observed.
