The recent bus accident at Nandigama in Krishna district, the alleged manhandling of RTA commissioner by some Telugu Desam Party leaders and cabinet expansion have caused a lot of damage to the TDP.
This was admitted by none other than party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu at a meeting of party seniors at Amaravati on Thursday.
He indirectly referred to the induction of four YSRC MLAs into his cabinet that had drawn a lot of criticism from various quarters. Similarly, the way the RTA commissioner issue was handled also sent negative image into the people, he felt.
While admitting that he had hurt several senior party leaders by not accommodating them in the cabinet for various reasons, the TDP president extended his apologies to them.
He assured that he would take care of all their political interests in future. At the same, he warned the disgruntled elements against expressing their views in public.
“I know there are issues and we shall sort them out within the party. But nobody should violate party discipline and make comments against the party in public,” he said.
