Revanth Reddy's Move Shakes Naidu Government

Revanth Reddy's Move Shakes Naidu Government

The Naidu government has been shaken by a strong political move made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Many TDP leaders have always considered Revanth Reddy as one of their own, even though he is now a Congress Chief Minister. After coming to power, Revanth Reddy has continued to maintain good relations with TDP leaders.

On New Year’s Day, Revanth Reddy met a senior media owner, whose political support is well known. However, Revanth Reddy later made a statement that shocked the Naidu government.

Speaking in the Telangana Assembly, Revanth Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had stopped the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project out of respect for him.

This statement led to strong criticism, with allegations that Chandrababu Naidu ignored Rayalaseema’s interests for political reasons. Since this issue could affect TDP politically in Rayalaseema, the coalition government reacted quickly.

The Andhra Pradesh government denied Revanth Reddy’s claims and said his comments were not true. It clarified that Chandrababu Naidu did not stop the project at Revanth Reddy’s request.

The AP government also said that political parties in Telangana were spreading false information for their own benefit.

The government made it clear that it would not compromise on Andhra Pradesh’s or Rayalaseema’s irrigation rights under any circumstances.

It explained that the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project was not stopped during Chandrababu Naidu’s rule, but was halted earlier due to objections from the Central government.

However, some people believe Revanth Reddy’s statement could be true because of his close relationship with Chandrababu Naidu.

During the Jubilee Hills by-election, many TDP supporters openly supported the Congress. Even though the TDP is allied with the BJP in Andhra Pradesh, it is an open secret that the party supports the Congress in Telangana.
