Revanth moves privilege motion against KTR

Taking objection to IT Minister K T Rama Rao dubbing them as AP nominated members, Telangana TDP MLA Revanth Reddy on Wednesday informed he would give a privilege motion to the Speaker against the minister.

KTR, during the course of the debate on the budget in the House, was agitated over the repeated disturbances created by Telangana TDP members praising AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

“There is provision for only one nominated Anglo-Indian member in the Assembly, but there seems to be too many nominated members in the House”. He asked the Telangana TDP members not to behave like AP Government’s nominated members but act as elected representatives of Telangana people.

Though the sarcastic remark of the TRS minister did not evoke any counter from the TTDP members, probably as an after-thought, Revanth moved a privilege notice against the IT minister alleging that his remarks had hurt the sentiments of the Anglo-Indian community as it had belittled them. He demanded that KTR withdraw his words against the TDP members.

“Otherwise, we would give privilege motion against him. If Speaker failed to take action against the Minister, we would also examine the option of moving a no-confidence motion against the Speaker, he added.
