Revanth gets high command support?

If the reports coming from New Delhi are to be believed, the Congress high command is understood to have stood solidly behind Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy and gave a dressing down to the seniors.

Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao got a hint to this effect from party president Sonia Gandhi.

She reportedly made it clear to him, albeit politely, that all the seniors would have to cooperate with Revanth and if possible, guide him, instead of running him down publicly.

Apparently, Sonia Gandhi got reports from her own sources that the seniors were running a campaign against Revanth Reddy on the pretext that he is new to the party and is taking unilateral decisions.

“There is no such thing called seniors or juniors in the party. And there is no place for egos. Revanth was appointed by the party and you have to follow the programmes he gives. Everything is being monitored from Delhi,” she reportedly told VH.

Similar message is learnt to have been given by Congress leader and former president Rahul Gandhi, who had a meeting with all groups of the Telangana Congress, including 30 seniors.

He made it clear that they should put an end to the internal bickering and work in one direction.

“Our only agenda is to bring the party to power in the next elections in Telangana. The seniors-juniors arguments should be kept aside. If the party can’t come to power in Telangana this time, it will be the end for the political careers of all the Congress leaders in the state,” he warned.

The AICC sent invitations to more than 30 senior leaders including V. Hanumantha Rao, Sangareddy MLA Turpu Jayaprakash ‘Jagga’ Reddy, Marri Shashidhar Reddy, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, former minister Ponnala Laxmaiah and others.
