Ram Madhav To Replace Venkaiah?

Ram Madhav To Replace Venkaiah?

If the reports from New Delhi are to be believed, hardcore RSS activist and BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav might replace Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs M Venkaiah Naidu in the Narendra Modi cabinet.

Ram Madhav, who hails from Amalapuram in East Godavari district, is very close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.

It is learnt Ram Madhav would be nominated to Rajya Sabha from Jammu and Kashmir and taken into the Modi cabinet in the next reshuffle, likely to take place in June.

On the other hand, the fate of Venkaiah Naidu is uncertain, as his Rajya Sabha term is coming to an end and it is not clear, whether he gets re-nomination from any other part of the country, if not Andhra Pradesh.

Sources said Venkaiah would be drafted into the party and given a key position and his name would be considered for the President’s post after Pranab Mukherjee, whose term will come to an end in July, 2017.

The BJP leadership is of the view that Ram Madhav’s entry into the cabinet would give a new impetus to the party cadre in Andhra Pradesh. Hitherto, the BJP is playing second fiddle to the TDP in the state, thanks to Venkaiah Naidu’s close friendship with Chandrababu Naidu.

Now, Ram Madhav will act independently and strive for the growth of the party in AP, sources said.
