Rahul To Defy KCR Ban, To Meet OU Students!

The Telangna Congress party seems to have gained a lot of confidence after the success of its recent public meeting at Sangareddy attended by party vice president Rahul Gandhi.

Now, it has decided to take Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao by horns by organising a public meeting at Osmania University with unemployed youth.

By doing so the party wants to woo the university student leaders who are unhappy with the ban on non-academic meetings on the campus.

However, following instructions from the KCR government, the OU authorities issued a circular prohibiting non-academic and political meetings on the campus.

However, the Congress leaders have decided to defy these orders and announced that they would soon hold a public meeting on the campus with unemployed youth to protect freedom of expression of students.

“Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is unable to enter the OU, which acted as a nerve centre for Telangana movement, following his government’s anti-people policies.

He is, therefore, adopting a vindictive attitude towards OU students by banning non-academic meetings,” Congress leader T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy said.

He alleged that the government was adopting coercive methods to stifle the voice of dissent on the OU campus similar to the way it was doing in the case of dharna chowk at Indira Park.

The government banned non-academic meetings at OU after knowing that the Congress was planning to organise a public meeting with Rahul Gandhi on the university campus, Reddy alleged.
