It is known that veteran actress B.Saroja Devi, aged 87, passed away early Monday at her residence in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, due to age-related health issues.
Her death marked the end of an era in South Indian cinema. As per her wishes, her eyes were donated to Narayana Nethralaya following her demise.
Doctors from the eye bank confirmed that Saroja Devi had registered for eye donation five years ago.
During a hospital visit, she had personally conveyed her desire to donate her eyes and completed the necessary formalities.
According to Dr. Rajkumar, both her corneas were in good condition and will be transplanted soon.
Her son Gowtham shared these details with the media. Fans and celebrities alike are mourning her passing, remembering not only her cinematic legacy but also her inspiring act of generosity.
