Pre-election surveys confusing voters!

Pre-election surveys confusing voters!

Now that it is an election season in both the Telugu states, a number of agencies and also media houses are coming out with their own election surveys, which are more confusing than reflecting the actual mindset of the voters.

For example, an election survey agency VDP Associates has come out with its latest poll survey in Telangana.

It says the Telangana Rashtra Samithi will win 80 seats, while the Congress would win just 20 seats. Of the remaining, the BJP will win seven seats, the MIM 8 and the others would win four seats.

Many netizens feel the survey appears to be far from reality, as the Congress can win much more than what it predicted.

The survey has not given even a single seat to the TDP, but surprisingly predicted that the BJP would win two more seats than what it had got in 2014.

What is more surprising is that it predicted eight seats for the MIM, which has declared candidates only in seven seats!

The survey conducted by popular news channel Aajtak in Andhra Pradesh has predicted that YSR Congress party headed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy would win the coming elections, as 43 per cent of the people said he was the best choice for the CM post.

Compared to him, Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu Naidu got the support of 38 per cent, while only five per cent voted for Pawan Kalyan.

It would mean, Jagan has improved his vote bank by just three per cent, while the YSRC people say it is much more.

What is surprising is that according to the survey, only 36% of the people of Andhra Pradesh are not happy with TDP ruling where as 18% people expressed neutral opinion on TDPs performance. It could mean if the TDP can woo these neutral voters, Naidu can come back to power.

So, one cannot exactly go by these survey reports, as it is difficult to read the pulse of an average voter.
