A report that appeared in a section of media on Monday triggered an interesting debate in the media circles.
The report says popular political strategist Prashant Kishor is likely to be engaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for working out strategies for the Bharatiya Janata Party for the 2019 general elections, in the wake of reports that the Congress is growing in strength and non-BJP parties are getting consolidated to form the next government at the Centre.
Since PK knows the pulse of all the parties, he is the right person to work out new strategies for Modi, say these reports.
The strategist fell apart from Modi after 2014 elections and worked for Nitish Kumar in Bihar and Congress in Uttar Pradesh.
However, Modi reportedly summoned him and held a couple of rounds of discussions to work for him and the BJP in 2019 elections and PK agreed for the same.
If the reports are true, PK might have to dump YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy immediately and take the assignment given by Modi. This is because Modi wants full-time work from PK and not half-hearted job.
Secondly, Modi might not like PK to work for Jagan, who is trying to dare the Centre. Thirdly, the BJP would pay a better remuneration to PK than Jagan.
The question is whether PK would dump Jagan abruptly. May be, he can dedicate a team exclusively for Jagan, while shifting his focus to Delhi. However, Jagan might not accept this part-time work, say observers.
