Telugu Desam Party official spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram, who has been the hot topic of Andhra Pradesh politics for the last one week, is learnt to have fled to Maldives, if one were to believe the rumours doing rounds in the social media.
According to these rumours, Pattabhi was spotted in Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad in Hyderabad on Monday morning, when he was boarding GO First Airlines (Flight No G8 1533) to fly to Male, the capital of Maldives.
The pictures of Pattabhi at the airport check-in counter and on board the flight to Maldives surfaced in the social media.
Might be Andhra Pradesh intelligence sleuths who were following him might have taken the pictures and circulated in the social media, say sources.
However, neither his family members nor TDP leaders confirmed Pattabhi’s travel to Maldives or any other place.
But the social media is agog with speculations and tweets with hashtag #whereispattabhi have been trending on the social media.
Pattabhi shot into headlines with his abusive comment against YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy recently.
He had been missing ever since he was released from Rajahmundry Central Jail following a high court order on Saturday.
Pattabhi was arrested by the police for abusing Jagan, following a high court order on Saturday. He went incommunicado after 8 pm and his family members suspected that he might have been arrested by the police in some other case.
But the police denied such rumours and said they had not arrested him.
“Pattabhi had left in his own vehicle and we are not aware where he had gone,” they said.
On Sunday evening, the TDP leaders got a message that Pattabhi is safe at an undisclosed location and he had gone underground fearing that he might be arrested again by the police. So, the TDP leaders must be aware that he might have left the country.
But one wonders whether Pattabhi can jump the bail, as it was a conditional bail and he cannot leave the country without court permission. He should be made himself available to the police for questioning under notice.
