No TDP-Jana Sena alliance in Telangana?

No TDP-Jana Sena alliance in Telangana?

Jana Sena Party president and power star Pawan Kalyan has announced an alliance between his party and the Telugu Desam Party in the upcoming assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

He has been extending total support to the TDP in all its agitations against the arrest of its president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the skill development scam case.

Both the parties have started cooperating with each other in their fight against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. While TDP ranks joined the Varahi Yatra of Pawan Kalyan, the Jana Sena party workers extended support to the TDP’s day-long fast on Monday in protest against Naidu arrest.

So far so good. But it appears Pawan Kalyan has no plans whatsoever to have an alliance with the TDP in Telangana.

Even as the Telangana unit of TDP is evincing interest in a good number of constituencies in the coming assembly elections in Telangana, the Jana Sena Party has chosen an independent path.

On Monday, Pawan Kalyan announced the list of Jana Sena Party candidates who would be contesting the Telangana assembly elections. In all, the Jana Sena Party would field its candidates in as many as 32 assembly seats.

The constituencies include Kukatpally, L B Nagar, Nagarkurnool, Wyra, Khammam, Munugode, Qutbullapur, Serilingampalli, Patancheru, Sanathnagar, Uppal, Kothagudem, Ashwaraopet, Palakurthy, Narasampet, Station Ghanpur, Husnabad, Jagitial, Nakirekal, Huzurnagar, Manthani, Kodad, Sattupalli, Warangal (West), Warangal (East), Malkajgiri, Khanapur, Medchal, Palair, Yellandu and Madhira.

In some of these constituencies, the Telangana TDP too is keen contesting. Especially in the I-T dominated areas of Kukatpally, L B Nagar, Serilingampally and Kamma dominated areas like Khammam, Kodad, Sattupalli etc, the TDP still has some vote bank and it hopes to garner some votes, if not winning the seats.

Since both the parties are forging an alliance in Andhra, they should have thought of an alliance in Telangana as well, so that they could win at least two or three seats here, sources said.
