No compromise says Chandrababu

Chandrababu Naidu is really hitting Telangana where it hurts the most: power supply. The Hinduja power plant in Visakhapatnam is nearing completion and is all set to go operational in February.

Quoting the ‘AP Re-Organization Act’, Telangana promptly came forward with a demand that 54% of the power be allotted to it.

Not willing to put up with this T-nuisance, Naidu made it clear that a ‘Purchase Power Agreement’ (PPA) needed to be in place to avail of power and Telangana did not have any.

Infuriated at this reply of Naidu, Telangana decided to enter into a PPA with the ‘Hinduja Group’.

The Hinduja Group then asked for Naidu’s permission to sell unutilized power to Telangana.

Naidu however denied permission saying that AP will purchase the entire power from the ‘plant’ and if there was excess power, AP will decide on who to sell it to.

Finding no way out, Telangana has decided to approach the judiciary.
