If speculations doing rounds in the social media circles for the last few hours are to be believed, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh E S L Narasimhan is likely to be shunted out of Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad sooner than later.
For quite some time, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre has been getting reports that Narasimhan has been showing partiality towards Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Though the BJP national leadership has also been showing soft corner towards KCR, it does not want him to grow into a powerful regional satrap but desires to keep him under its thumb, so that he has to depend on the Centre for everything.
However, there have been reports that KCR is trying to circumvent all the systems and establish his supremacy in every field, including law and order, with the help of Narasimhan.
Apparently, the BJP leadership came to the conclusion that if given the lenience, KCR-Narasimhan combine might even pose a threat to the Centre.
So, in a bid to keep control over the TRS government, the Centre is planning to shift Narasimhan and replace him with a loyal BJP leader as the Governor of Telangana and Andhra.
This is essentially to ensure that the new Governor would put a check on KCR’s highhanded behavior and also bring him into the control of the BJP.
“It is evident that the BJP national leadership wants to tune the TRS according to its needs, as it is doing in the case of AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, rather than allowing to emerge as a regional super power,” a party leader said.
