Naidu's Pampering Of BJP Upsets TTDP

An uneasy calm is prevailing in the Telangana Telugu Desam Party camp, with the party president N Chandrababu Naidu deciding to leave the Warangal Lok Sabha seat to his ally Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming bye-elections.

The Telagnana TDP leaders held a prolonged discussion with Naidu at Vijayawada on Tuesday and tried to prevail upon him to field a candidate for Warangal bypoll. However, Naidu insisted that the TDP has to follow the coalition dharma and hence, it is better to leave the seat to the BJP.

Telangana TDP president L Ramana said the party would not field its candidate in the Warangal Lok Sabha by-election.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will field its candidate of which the BJP and the TDP are the partners, he said.

Ramana said theTDP leaders tried to convince Naidu that they should contest the bypoll.

“But our president strictly advised us that the normal practice of the alliance should be strictly followed and thus a NDA candidate should be fielded for the seat and we have dropped the idea of TDP contesting the election," he said.
