Naidu waives only 20% crop loans

That Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu does not enjoy credibility among the people was once again proved on Wednesday, when his cabinet, after a four-hour marathon meeting, decided to waive only 20 per cent crop loan.

The Chief Minister has taken a decision to release Rs 11,000 crore --- 20 per cent of total Rs 45,000 crore towards crop loan waiver. There was no clarity as to when this amount would be released and what steps the government would take to ensure grant of fresh loans by banks.

Besides setting up Farmers Empowerment Corporation to transfer funds to the banks, the Cabinet also decided to set up a Sanitary Corporation for clean and green program.

The Cabinet also decided to urge the Centre to confer “Bharat Ratna” to former Chief Minister late N T Rama Rao, constitute a Memorial Trust in the name of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao at Delhi and extend greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his successful five-day mission to America.

Chandrababu also found fault with the TRS Government for its proposal to remove the statues from Tank Bund attributing the regional color.

It is not proper to make such proposal. he said. He has decided to make an appeal to the TRS Government against the removal of statues who are known for flourishing the culture and tradition of our Telugu Culture, Naidu felt.
