Naidu sought Modi's appointment in Delhi?

If the reports doing rounds in the political circles of Andhra Pradesh are correct, Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is desperately trying to have a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

According to these reports, Naidu would be going to New Delhi on December 4, a day in advance of the all-party meeting called by the Prime Minister on the occasion of India being chosen as the head of G-20 nations with effect from December 1.

Modi invited heads of all the political parties including Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, too, for the meeting to be held at Rashtrapathi Bhavan at 5 pm on December 5 to seek their advices on the role to be played by India in G-20 nations.

But Naidu would be reaching the national capital on December 4 itself. Reports say he sought an appointment with the Prime Minister to discuss the political situation in the state and submit a memorandum against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Apparently, the TDP chief would also like to thrash out the differences between his party and the BJP and might seek a cooperation of the centre in restoring democratic atmosphere in the state.

“He will make every effort to restore ties with the BJP, so that the TDP could join hands with it and also Jana Sena Party led by power star Pawan Kalyan in the next assembly elections,” sources said.

Perhaps that was the reason why Naidu made an open statement at a public rally at Kovvur on Thursday that the 2014 situation is going to be repeated in Andhra Pradesh in 2024.

Though one doesn’t know in what context he made the statement, but it is being interpreted in the social media that he is confident of forging an alliance with the Jana Sena and BJP in 2024, as he had done in 2014.
