Naidu, KCR Must Apologise To Farmers

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao should apologise to farmers of their respective States for their failure to honour the promise on waiving off farm loans.

This was the demand raised by Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao on Friday. He told media at Gandhi Bhavan that both Naidu and KCR had cheated the farmers by promising that their agricultural loans would be waived off. However, their failure to fulfill the promise had put the farmers in a new problem. The banks are about to include farmers in the defaulters' list and they were not in a position to seek fresh loans for the Kharif season, he said.

VHR also expressed concern over the statement of SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya over agricultural loans waiver promise.

He demanded both Naidu and KCR to pressurise the Centre or seek Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention on the issue.
