Apparently realising that the ground is fast eroding under his feet, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has started doing emotional blackmailing of sorts with the people of the state.
For the last few days, Naidu has been telling people during the public meetings that the people had given an opportunity to TDP in 2014 to rebuild Andhra Pradesh which has suffered heavily due to unscientific bifurcation of the combined state by the previous Congress regime.
“Despite lack of cooperation from the Centre, I have been making all out efforts to reconstruct Andhra Pradesh and develop into one of the most progressive states in the country.
The Polavaram major irrigation project is nearing completion, the Pattiseema project has been completed to provide irrigation to Krishna delta despite droughts and Amaravati capital city is fast progressing.
If all these works, which have taken off with full vigour, have to be completed on time, the people should give a second term to the TDP,” Naidu said.
Stating that voting the TDP to power for the second time in the next elections is a historic necessity, the TDP chief said if it did not happen, all the good work done so far would go futile.
“If the people want this present pace of development and welfare schemes continue, they should have to vote the TDP back to power,” he said at a meeting in Ongole.
Claiming that his government is extending efficient and good governance, he said every person benefiting from the government should extend cooperation.
He called upon the people to confront the Centre over injustice meted out to the State by it.
