Is Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu fast losing confidence in himself?
The man, who once steered the wheel at the Centre and claimed to have installed two Prime Ministers and a President in the country, appears to have gone very much helpless, if one were to go by his latest tweet on his official handle.
“I have never faced such a turbulent situation in my last four decades of politics on any issue. But I will try my best to overcome whatever obstacles that I might face in the completion of Polavaram project, the lifeline of the state,” he said.
Never in the past did Naidu disclose his mind on the tough situations he had faced. But by saying that he was going through a turbulent phase, he indirectly admitting that he was feeling the heat. So what are the issues that are causing so much anxiety in Naidu?
Well, Polavaram is one major issue as was evident from his tweet – he is not confident that the project will be completed before his term ends in 2019, though he is putting up a brave front.
Secondly, the new capital of Amaravati is yet to take off, though only ground work is being done at present. There is no construction worth mentioning in Amaravati except the temporary secretariat and assembly. There is a growing unrest among farmers who had given their lands for the capital.
And the financial crisis due to lack of inadequate flow of funds from the Centre, the revival of special category status issue and many other burning issues are causing a lot of worry and unrest in Naidu!
