Naidu conspiring to deny RS seat to YSRC?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is said to have stepped up his attempts to deny lone Rajya Sabha seat to YSRC in the elections to the Upper House scheduled to be held in April.

The YSRC leaders have got the hint that Naidu is planning to lure more number of MLAs from their party into the TDP so that the YSRC will not enough number of MLAs to field the candidate for Rajya Sabha elections.

As of now, the YSRC has 44 MLAs and it requires at least 42 MLAs to win the RS seat comfortably.

According to YSRC MP V Vijay Sai Reddy, the TDP president has once again started his Operation Akarsh and luring the opposition MLAs.

He is submitting a representation to Election Commission of India to lodge a complaint against Naidu stating that the latter was spending huge amounts to bring the Opposition party MLAs into the TDP to deny RS seat to the YSRC.

The TDP will get two RS seats and YSRC will get one in the RS elections in Andhra Pradesh to be held in April.

In all, three members would be retiring this year – K Chiranjeevi, Renuka Chowdary and T Devender Goud (the last one is from Telangana, but got allotted to AP through lottery).

The TDP now wants to bag all the three seats by trapping some of the YSRC MLAs.

Who these MLAs are still remains a million dollar question!
