Naidu banks on IVRS feedback, not happy with reports

As the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government completes its first year in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reviewed citizen feedback collected through the IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) and CSDS (Centre for the Study of Developing Societies) surveys.

While the government has launched multiple development and welfare programs — including job fairs, housing, pensions, and public services — it continues to face ground-level criticism, primarily due to bureaucratic lapses, according to the survey reports.

Naidu had expected nearly 100% positive feedback on his governance; however, the actual feedback ranged from 55% to 86%, depending on the scheme and its implementation.

Reportedly, Naidu is upset with bureaucratic hurdles and field-level corruption. He directed officials to adopt a “zero-corruption” policy and emphasized strict action in cases where corruption is proven.

Nevertheless, the surveys revealed that 85% of pensioners reported no corruption in pension distribution, and 87.8% confirmed doorstep delivery. The CSDS survey noted that 93.9% of pensioners reported timely disbursement.

Regarding the behavior of state government employees, 83.9% (IVRS) and 73.3% (CSDS) rated it as satisfactory.

As for Anna Canteens, 80.5% of beneficiaries were satisfied with hygiene, 79.3% approved of food quality, and 80.8% appreciated punctual service.

However, public feedback on healthcare services was far from satisfactory. Only 68.4% were satisfied with healthcare quality, 55% approved of the blood testing process, and 65.5% were satisfied with free medicine distribution.

In municipal services, 68.1% reported daily garbage collection, while only 57% said garbage was collected within 24 hours.

Regarding APSRTC services, only 53.4% were satisfied with cleanliness, 45.2% with water facilities, 56% with toilets, and 69% with transportation timeliness.

For civil supplies, 75.1% said they regularly received monthly rations, and 73.8% were satisfied with the quality.

In the Deepam 2 gas subsidy scheme, only 62.8% said there were no extra charges, indicating that others were still being forced to pay bribes.

Naidu instructed officials to further improve services, implement real-time feedback collection through WhatsApp Governance under the "Mana Mitra" platform by August 15, and focus on improving hygiene, inclusion, and service delivery quality across all sectors.
