Nagababu to shift base to Anakapalle?

Nagababu to shift base to Anakapalle?

Senior actor and newly-appointed Jana Sena Party General Secretary Konidela Nagababu has taken action soon after his appointment.

He announced that he would tour different parts of the state to strengthen the party and expand the cadre network.

As part of his strategy, Nagababu is contemplating touring north-coastal Andhra, particularly the Visakhapatnam and Anakapalle parliamentary constituencies, in the next two or three months.

According to sources, Nagababu is eyeing the Anakapalle parliamentary constituency in the next general elections and is likely to contest from there, feeling that there are bright chances of winning.

In the previous elections, he contested from the Narasapuram parliamentary constituency but lost the seat by a significant margin to the then YSRC candidate Kanumuru Raghu Ramakrishna Raju.

Now it appears that Raju might contest the elections again from the same constituency on behalf of Jana Sena party or the Telugu Desam Party, leaving Nagababu with no option but to shift to another constituency.

Sources said Nagababu believes there is no better place than Anakapalli to try his luck.

First, it has a large number of Kapu voters, and there is every chance they might polarize in favor of Jana Sena.

Secondly, even if there is an alliance with the TDP, the Jana Sena is likely to ask for seats in Anakapalli, parts of Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari, and part of Guntur.

"During the 2009 elections, Chiranjeevi's brother-in-law Allu Arjun contested from Anakapalli and lost by a considerable margin. This time, Nagababu will try his luck from the same place," sources said.
