Mudragada Under Week-Long House Arrest!

Mudragada Under Week-Long House Arrest!

The Telugu Desam Party government has decided to deal with iron hand the agitation of former minister and Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham for reservations to Kapus.

For the second consecutive day on Thursday, the police thwarted the attempt of Mudragada to take out the padayatra from his house at Kirlampudi village up to Amaravati.

They told him that there was no question of allowing him to take up the padayatra as he had no permission.

Further, they told him that he was being placed under house arrest for one full week; and so, he cannot come out on the roads under any circumstances.

A furious Mudragada shouted at the police and asked him why he should be kept under house arrest.

“You can as well arrest me legally and put me in real jail, instead of confining me to my house,” he said.

However, the police politely told him that they were simply obeying the instructions from the above.

So, the house arrest of Mudragada will continue up to August 2 under section 144, clause III. AP Director General of Police N Sambasiva Rao said the police bandobast will continue at the Kapu leader's residence and requested him to cooperate.

He said there was no question of compromising on maintaining law and order which is the reason the police will be ready to arrest Mudragada if he violates the law.

According to the reports, around 1,190 people were taken into preventive custody across the state on Wednesday.
