Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT and panchayat raj minister Nara Lokesh, who has been keeping away from political comments for quite some for reasons known only to him, once again made an interesting comment on Friday.
Speaking at a function got up to mark the inauguration of developmental works worth Rs 28 crore in Ungutur mandal of Krishna district, Lokesh expressed confidence that the TDP would come back to power in the 2019 elections also. However, he was not sure of the margin of victory.
“It is only the question of the majority and not about the victory of the TDP that one should be worried about,” he said, indicating that it is not so easy to win the elections this time.
Lokesh appealed to the people to vote for the TDP for the sake of continuing the developmental works undertaken by his father and chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Lokesh has been refraining from making any comments against the Bharatiya Janata Party or the NDA government at the Centre, even as his father has sharpened his tongue and is attacking the Centre for doing injustice to the state.
Sources said he has been secretly working on splitting the BJP and luring as many BJP leaders as possible into the TDP.
