KVP To Take Control Of Andhra Congress?

KVP To Take Control Of Andhra Congress?

It appears the Congress high command has decided to entrust the task of reviving the party in Andhra Pradesh to senior leader and Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao.

According to reports from New Delhi, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi reportedly came to the conclusion that only KVP had the capability to bring back the glory to the party in the coming years for more than one reason.

First, KVP was a strong loyalist of late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy who was an out and out Congressman; hence, he has fair knowledge about the party structure in AP right from the grass-root level.

Secondly, he has the tremendous ability to mobilise finances at the right time to enable the leaders to fight the elections.

Thirdly, he has proved a master strategist and a silent worker.

The way he organised the Chalo Delhi rally of the APCC to fight for the special category status to AP has brought a lot of mileage to the party in the State.

Apparently, the high command has realised the folly of ignoring KVP all these days, suspecting that he might be indirectly backing YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

And if everything works out, KVP might even bring about a patch-up between Jagan and the Congress party in the coming years to fight the elections together in 2019!
