KVP Ruined Jagan's CM Chances?

When former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy died in a tragic helicopter crash, everybody thought his son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy would become the next chief minister. But it did not happen. What is the reason?

Well, former Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao has the answer. He said it was Congress MP K V P Ramachandra Rao who was responsible for ruinin the chances of Jagan becoming the chief minister.

“Even as the body of YSR was yet to be laid to rest, KVP had prompted the YSR followers to take up signature campaign among the MLAs, asking the party high command to make Jagan as the chief minister. This has naturally irritated the high command, which kept him at bay,” VH said.

He opined that Jagan should have waited for a few days more and displayed some restraint, instead of falling into the trap of KVP.

“Everybody knew that Rosaiah was only an interim chief minister. Had Jagan not been impatient, high command would have definitely considered his candidature since there was no opposition for him. He would have become the chief minister in the next couple of months. But for the overzealousness of KVP, Jagan had lost the chance,” VH observed.
