The latest comments made by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha about a conspiracy being hatched against her within the party have stirred up a storm.
Though she did not name anyone directly, it was evident that she was targeting her brother and BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR), whom she suspects of orchestrating the negative stories being circulated through certain social media platforms and Telugu digital news sites.
Kavitha openly stated that she is fully aware of who is behind this malicious campaign against her and vowed to expose them at the appropriate time.
Apparently sensing that Kavitha could become a challenge, KTR on Friday rushed to the residence of his cousin and former minister T Harish Rao in Kokapet, where the two held a closed-door meeting that lasted over two hours.
While the visit was officially described as a courtesy call to inquire about Harish Rao’s father’s health, sources suggest that the two discussed the potential fallout from Kavitha’s recent statements.
According to party insiders, KTR and Harish Rao talked about the latest internal developments in the BRS. Not long ago, Harish Rao had publicly denounced a smear campaign against him on social media, reiterating his loyalty to BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and expressing support for KTR’s leadership.
In the last two days, BRS social media handles have projected KTR and Harish Rao as the "Krishna-Arjuna" duo of the Mahabharata, poised to lead the party to victory. Notably, Kavitha has been completely left out of these narratives.
Against this backdrop, the meeting between KTR and Harish Rao has taken on significant political weight. They are believed to have discussed Kavitha’s potential moves and contingency plans should she decide to challenge KTR’s authority.
There is also speculation that KTR may have consulted Harish Rao on whether offering Kavitha a key position in the party could defuse the situation. However, no official statement has been made in this regard.
