Congress MLC Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and his MLA brother Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who have been successfully into infrastructure business, are all set to venture into the media market.
According to reports, Komatireddy brothers have floated a media house – Sushi Media Private Limited, and applied for a licence to launch a Telugu television channel.
They have hired a senior journalist, who had earlier worked with Zee Telugu and Sakshi TV, as the chief executive officer and started preliminary work on the channel.
It will take another four to five months for the channel to materialise, as the studio has to be established and a lot of hiring has to take place.
Komatireddy brothers had initially tried to get into the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, but somehow the deal did not materialise. So, they stayed back in the Congress hoping for good days.
Rajagopal is strongly hopeful that he would be elevated to the post of the Telangana PCC chief before the 2019 elections and hence, he is of the view that the media house would help him and the Congress party to come to power.
