Komatireddy backs KCR, but not to defect

Senior Congress leader and former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday was all praise for Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao for his vision to develop Telangana, but declared that he would not be switching loyalties to the ruling TRS.

Talking to mediapersons here after calling on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here, Venkat Reddy maintained that he was a “hardcore Telanganaite”.

He said he had appealed to the Chief Minister to complete the works related to Medical colleges, SLBC tunnel works, super specialty hospitals and an irrigation project in Nalgonda district.

Venkat Reddy also accused the Congress and Telugu Desam parties of indulging in misguiding the people on power crisis and farmers’ suicides.

He said the TRS Government had been ruling since just four months so the people cannot find fault with the governance.

Stating that KCR may need some more time to keep his promises, he said the Congress and the TDP were unnecessarily targeting the TRS Government on power crisis and farmers’ suicides.

Venkat Reddy squarely blamed AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Congress for the present power crisis.

He sought to know why Naidu was preventing power supply to Telangana State from Krishnapatnam project. This can well be attributed to Naidu’s ill-intention towards Telangana, he alleged, adding that the previous Congress government had failed to take up or complete a single power project in Telangana.
