Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is highly confident of retaining power in the next elections banking on his populist schemes, while the main opposition Congress party is trying to reach out to the people through its bus yatras.
But one man who is silently spreading his message in the people and expanding his network is Telangana Jana Samithi founder-president Prof M Kodandaram.
Instead of making big roads shows and addressing public meetings, Kodandaram is concentrating on strengthening the network of his newly-formed party.
He is right now busy conducting workshops for the party cadre up to mandal level and gearing them up on how to gain the support in the masses and counter the political manipulations of the TRS and the Congress.
He is directly going into the people and gathering their views on various issues so as to prepare his party philosophy.
The workshops are also helping Kodanda to identify potential candidates for the forthcoming panchayat raj and subsequent assembly elections.
The party has already invited applications online for people interested in rural development and social work besides training candidates on how to approach the public on various issues and make them aware of how the TRS government has failed to fulfill the promises.
The party is planning to focus on involving the students and unemployed youth in villages as they were the ones who took forward the separate Telangana agitation.
“Our candidates come from grass root level and not the ones who pump in money,” a party leader said.
