Kodanda Questions Need For KCR's New House

Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram came down heavily on chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for constructing a new residence-cum-office complex for himself at a time when the farmers were dying due to lack of seeds and fertilisers.

“Is there any necessity for the chief minister to have a new house? If really needed one, there are several government bungalows. It sends wrong signals into the people as lakhs of farmers were suffering across the state,” Kodandaram said.

He said it took just eight months for the government to construct one lakh square feet house on a nine acre plot, while the double bedroom scheme for the weaker sections had not been taken up even after two and a half years.

“This shows the priority of the KCR government. When does he complete the houses?” he asked.
