If the political rumor mills are to be taken seriously, former ministers Kodali Nani and Balineni Srinivasa Reddy are likely to be taken back into the cabinet by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The chief minister is said to have made the decision following the party’s defeat in the recent MLC elections, in which the YSR Congress lost three seats in the graduate constituencies and one seat in the assembly quota.
Accordingly, the chief minister is taking the defeat seriously and is reviewing the reasons behind it. He has come to the conclusion that the present cabinet lacks inspiring faces.
Kodali Nani and Balineni have a significant following among the youth, and it has been proven that they can draw a better crowd and inspire the party cadre. Therefore, sources say that the chief minister wants to have both these leaders in his cabinet as he gears up for the 2024 general election.
The chief minister is of the opinion that the party’s defeat in the MLC election can be corrected only by bringing back Kodali Nani and Balineni Srinivasa Reddy.
It remains to be seen whether the chief minister will bring these two leaders into the cabinet, but the big question is who will be removed to accommodate them.
