KCR Used 'Telangana Issue' For His Selfish Gains

CLP leader K Jana Reddy fired salvos at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday.

Responding to KCR's remarks against him at the Warangal bypoll campaign on Tuesday, that Jana used "Telangana issue" as a weapon for his own political growth, Jana said it was indeed KCR who used Telangana issue to serve his selfish political interests and that of his family members.

"KCR told yesterday that I tried to rake up Telangana issue whenever I was denied minister posts, which is totally false and baseless. In fact, it's KCR who established TRS in 2001 after he was denied minister post by Chandrababu Naidu in TDP government in 2000. Had Naidu gave minister post for KCR then, TRS would not have happened even today," Jana said.

Jana stated that because of the pressure brought up by Telangana Congress leaders, the Congress high command agreed for bifurcation of state and not because of road side shows or dharnas conducted by TRS leaders.

"TRS leaders should realise that such separatist movements continued in Jammu and Kashimir, Assam for several decades which the Congress government dealt with an iron hand. It was not difficult for Congress party headed UPA government to control the Telangana agitation taken up by a small time party like TRS then. Since Congress leaders from Telangana also demanded statehood for Telangana, the party high command agreed to it," Jana added.
