KCR Softens Stand On Saffron Groups!

KCR Softens Stand On Saffron Groups!

Is Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao softening his stand on the saffron groups, particularly after his latest bonhomie with the Bharatiya Janata Party?

The answer appears to be yes, if one were to go by the response of the TRS government in the high court which dismissed its appeal petition challenging the earlier verdict of single judge bench lifting the ban on controversial Hindu seer Swamy Paripoornananda into Hyderabad limits.

The appeal was filed before KCR met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 25 and got the nod for early elections in the state.

The state’s advocate general, too, did not put up any resistance to the court’s order. Sources said the government will not go for any appeal now and allow Swamy Paripoornananda into the city.

Last month, the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police, besides Rachakonda police, externed Swamy Paripoornanda on charges of making hate speech at a public meeting and for planning a protest rally in the city against Telugu film critic Kathi Mahesh’s inappropriate remarks against Hindu sacred figures of Rama and Sita in a TV debate.

On Tuesday, KCR gave appointment to the BJP MLAs within minutes and discussed with them the state and national politics, besides early elections. This led to the talk that the TRS chief is cosying up with saffron party.
