YSR Congress party on Tuesday demanded that the Telangana government order a CBI probe into the gangster Nayeem’s links with Telugu Desam Party leaders.
YSRC MLA G Srikanth Reddy alleged that gangster Nayeem was protected by TDP president and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in his earlier stint and the TDP links with Nayeem were well established.
He also demanded that the KCR government also probe the statement of of Jerusalem Mathaiah, the accused in cash for vote case, who complained that he had a life threat from Chandrababu Naidu.
“There were many scamsters like Kola Krishna Mohan and others who had sprouted during previous term of TDP,” he said,
Srikanth Reddy said the Telangana government should also answer as to why Chandrababu Naidu was being let off in the cash for vote scam though there was enough evidence to show his involvement.
“The two Chief Ministers have challenged each other but suddenly the guns fell silent for whatever reason,” he said.
The YSRC leader ridiculed Chandrababu Naidu’s tall claims and taking credit for others’ achievements.
"Chandrababu Naidu staking claim for PV Sindhu’s victory or Pullela Gopichand’s coaching ability has no meaning. He has even taken credit for Krishna Pushkarams, which come once in 12 years.
"What he has done during this term of governance is that he had added cinematic flavour to the religious ritual and he and his henchmen have pocketed 90 per cent of the funds allocated for the Godavari and Krishna pushkarams," Reddy alleged.
