Strange it may sound, but Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has heaped praises on Godavari districts in Andhra Pradesh.
KCR, who is also famous as "maatala mantrikudu" (magician of words) who attracts and connects to people of any region or section, instantly with his punch dialogues and comments, knows well how to strike a chord with Khammam people and leaders, who mostly have "Seemandhra roots".
When scores of local leaders in Khammam from Opposition parties joined TRS on Saturday in the presence of KCR, he said, "East Godavari and West Godavari deserve appreciation for their development on all fronts. I will develop Khammam on par with these Godavari districts."
His comments as expected received good response from Khammam people who raised "KCR Zindabad" and "TRS Zindabad" slogans.
TRS Khammam leader and minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, who was present there, too was surprised to see KCR praising Godavari districts and it took few minutes for him and other Khammam leaders to realise that KCR has now set his eyes on Seemandhra voters in Khammam to win Khammam Municipal Corporation elections, expected soon.
