Telangana Rashtra Samithi headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has once again proved that he is not willing to antagonise the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.
On Wednesday, when Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, responding on the notice given by Telugu Desam Party member Kesineni Nani seeking to move no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government, wanted to know whether he had the support of required number of 50 MPs, members of almost all the opposition parties expressed their support by standing up in the House.
Apart from the TDP, members belonging to the Congress, CPM, CPI, RSP, AAP, SP, NCP, TMC, and RJD extended their support. Even three turncoat YSR Congress party MPs – Butta Renuka, S P Y Reddy and Kothapalli Geetha also stood up in support of the TDP.
However, the TRS MPs did not get up from their seats, indicating that they are not against the motion and have full confidence in Narendra Modi government.
In fact, the TDP MPs approached the TRS MPs as well and sought their support to the no-confidence motion a couple of days ago.
Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar said the decision would be taken by party president K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Since the TRS MPs did not support the TDP motion, it was pretty evident that KCR is against opposing Narendra Modi.
Of late, the chief minister has been maintaining good relations with the Prime Minister and his son K T Rama Rao and nephew T Harish Rao have been regularly visiting Delhi to meet central ministers and officials.
Apparently, KCR wants to get the maximum benefits from the Centre without giving the impression that he is pro-BJP. But his latest moves indicate that he is pro-Modi, if not pro-BJP!
